Dear Parents or Guardians, and Students
My name is Ms. Rhona Hunter and I warmly welcome you and your student to the new school year. We have an exciting road ahead of us and we're going to work very hard toward our reading goals. I hope that you will visit and navigate the rest of the blog on a regular basis to get pertinent information for a successful school year.
You can help me at home by ensuring that regular attendance, homework completion, and assignment completion grades in Pinnacle Grade Book are checked on a weekly basis. Accountability on the part of your student is key to reading achievement success on the new Florida Standards Assessment (FSA), FCAT Retake or ACT/SAT Reading - a requirement for Florida High School Graduation. Many students also fail this class unnecessarily due to missing assignments. Per school board policy, students have only two school days for each day of an excused absence to turn in work. So please ensure that any missing work by your student is submitted in a timely manner.
Your student's success is my ultimate goal. So to that end please be aware that I may contact you directly if a student demonstrates excessive tardies, absences, missing assignments, overuse of electronic devices, misuse of bathroom passes or general disruption of the educational process in class. I am available for any questions or concerns through e-mail at [email protected]. or through the contact page on this website. Conferences may also be requested through your student's assigned Guidance Counselor.
